Now that summer is here, you need to keep your oral health in good shape. Throughout this fun season, it’s best to keep your teeth and gums in mind to avoid periodontal disease at all costs. In order to take great care of your smile, our team recommends doing the following things:
-Keep up on oral hygiene: Make sure you brush and floss your teeth twice a day. You also need to attend your periodontal maintenance visits and checkups.
-Wear a mouth guard: As you participate in your high-contact activities, it’s best to protect your teeth with a mouthguard. You can purchase a mouthguard at any sporting goods store or you can talk to us about how to get one. Either way, it’s best to wear a mouthguard while you are active to prevent any possible trauma to them.
-Be smart while traveling: Please remember to pack your oral hygiene tools while you travel. It’s best to put your toothbrush in a plastic container so the bristles don’t get damaged. It’s also important to remember that you can only carry a small tube of toothpaste and mouthwash if you are traveling on a plane.
